POSITION GOAL
This position will, with the CFO, ensure that the agency's policies and procedures related to fiscal operations are followed to ensure that adequate and correct financial data is maintained. This position also includes duties related to purchasing, payables, receivables, payroll, cash disbursements, posting and internal and external financial reporting procedures.
SCHEDULE AND WAGE
Monday - Friday from 8:00 am - 5:00 pm; $32.49 - $36.08 hourly depending upon education and experience.
*This position is eligible for a $1200 retention incentive after successfully completing 180 days of employment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Performs all aspects of payroll, ensuring accuracy and completeness of the process.
- Enters and processes journal entries related to payroll.
- Prepares external reports for reimbursement of funds based on specific funder requirements.
- Produces and sends out accounts receivable invoices for reimbursement.
- Enter new vendors into the accounting system ensuring completeness and accuracy of information.
- Maintains and tracks a listing of non-equipment inventory.
- Back up on issuing of PO’s and credit card authorizations
- Checks documents for errors in accounting classification/mathematics unit prices/total/etc., and completeness or presence of supporting documents.
- Code transactions according to a chart of accounts.
- Checks accounts for accuracy of entries/posting/totals/balances.
- Establish/maintains/verifies necessary budget/fiscal/accounting records relating to the receipt and disbursement of funds.
- Prepares and issues reports to reflect the financial condition of the various funds.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Four year degree in accounting or 1 year experience in private or public accounting - experience in fund accounting preferred.
OR
AA or related degree and 3 years experience in private or public accounting - experience in fund accounting preferred.
OR
A suitable combination of education and experience.
AND
Experience in all aspects of payroll, accounting and preparation of financial statements and all related reports.
