GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:

The Director of Operations collaborates closely with the Division of Facilities & Public Safety and Operations, as well as college administration, faculty, staff, and visitors, to provide oversight and management of key operational areas. This role is responsible for the administration of fleet operations, ensuring regulatory compliance across campus facilities, managing lease agreements and service contracts, and overseeing mail services. The Director ensures that these functions are carried out efficiently, in alignment with institutional policies, and in support of the college’s daily operations.

The typical work schedule for this position will be Monday through Friday from 8am to 5pm.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage enterprise operations, including Fleet Services.
  • Independently oversee Mail Services, Fleet, and Compliance personnel.
  • Schedule staff to meet operational demands efficiently.
  • Resolve day-to-day operational issues and challenges related to customer request
  • Ensure accurate completion of compliance tasks related to the college’s compliance calendar
  • Manage lease agreements and service contracts
  • Maintain accurate records in alignment with operations priorities.
  • Develop and implement standards and procedures for employee workflows.
  • Oversee divisional training and outreach programs.
  • Support operational functions across departments within Facilities, Public Safety and Operations 
  • Provide consistent communication and collaboration with internal and external customers
  • Monitor and evaluate departmental activities to enhance efficiency and optimize resource use.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES WITH/WITHOUT REASONABLE ACCOMMODATION:

Position involves working in an office setting. Occasional (10-33%) standing, pushing, pulling and grasping. Frequent (34-66%) reaching and viewing a computer and other types of close visual work. Constant (67-100%) sitting, walking, repetitive motion, talking and hearing. 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associate’s degree required.
  • Two to four years of related full-time work experience.
  • Experience in supervising personnel in a business or industry setting.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS, LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, OR REGISTRATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, operations management, or a related field.
  • Five or more years of progressive experience in operations, facilities, or compliance-related roles.
  • Experience working in an educational or public-sector environment.
  • Familiarity with enterprise fleet management systems or compliance tracking tools.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with demonstrated ability to collaborate with stakeholders
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and implement process improvements.
