The Optical shop at Iowa Eye Center is a busy, thriving full service optical shop with many opticians and in-house edging lab.

Iowa Eye Center is a physician-owned practice with 7 physicians and 55 employees. Local solo practice ophthalmologists founded the group practice in 1992, and many employees have been with us since then. It's a great place to work! We are looking for an experienced optician to join our team!

​Key Responsibilities: ​

• Ensuring proper frame selection
• Dispensing glasses
• Adjusting glasses and doing minor repairs
• Ordering lenses and frames
• Submitting to insurance plans

 

What we are looking for:

• ABO certification is preferred
• Knowledge of current lens technology
• Experience with eye plans such as VSP, EyeMed, and Spectera
• Detailed-oriented person
• Ability to communicate effectively and compassionately with patients
• Ability to communicate with your co-workers, physicians, and medical personnel
