Join Matthew 25 as a Cafe Prep Cook/ Server at our innovative, pay-it-forward Groundswell Cafe. In this rewarding role, you will prepare high-quality, healthy meals, maintain a clean kitchen, greet customers, work the register, and deliver exceptional service to a diverse community. We seek a detailed-oriented team player with a passion for social impact and food safety. Culinary education or food prep experience is preferred. This fast-paced position requires standing for 4-5 hours daily and offers excellent benefits, including health insurance, PTO, paid holidays, and a Simple IRA match. Position is part-time, working 20-30 hours per week. Starting hourly pay will be between $12 and $16, depending on experience.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES (include but are not limited to the following)
- Prep and cook food to meet the needs of the Café, meeting and exceeding the diner’s expectations in quality, and timing of meals.
- Thorough cleaning of the open kitchen and dining room.
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen and dining room.
- Provide excellent customer service, making visitors feel welcome and encourage repeat business.
- Assist and take direction from the Groundswell Director.
- Maintain Linn County Public Health food safety standards and regulations.
- Recommend process improvements for increased efficiencies.
- Display and promote company values.
- Regular attendance.
- Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE (include but are not limited to the following)
- Education in culinary arts and/or previous experience in a relatable field preferred
- Food preparation experience preferred.
