Lead Diesel Technician — Class 8 Fleet Shop — $30–$40 / hr, Home Every Night
Jensen Transport Inc
Job Reference #: H365-FAJAQO
Are you the one the whole shop comes to when a truck has everyone stumped?
That's who we're looking for. Someone who tracks down the real cause instead of swapping parts until it goes away, sets every bolt to spec, and does the job once so the truck doesn't roll back in next week with the same problem.
Jensen Transport is a 96-year-old Independence carrier hauling food-grade bulk and liquid sweeteners. We keep our Class 8 fleet in our own shop, and we need a lead diesel technician to keep it running.
The work
- Complete repairs on Class 8 trucks: engines, aftertreatment, electrical, brakes, suspension, drivetrain and alignment
- Diagnosis and repair on Detroit Diesel DD13, DD15 and Series 60 engines
- Preventive maintenance and DOT annual inspections, plus trailer and tanker work when needed
- Teach our younger technicians. They're eager to learn from someone who's really good at this, and that's you.
What you bring
- Must have: hands-on full engine work on Detroit DD13 and Series 60, or comparable heavy-duty diesels
- Detroit/DTNA or Freightliner dealer training is a plus
- Your own hand tools. We supply the diagnostic tools: Noregon JPro and TaaS.
- A CDL is a plus. Without one, you'll get your CDL within your first 6 months, and we pay for the training.
Pay: $30–$40 an hour, depending on experience and training
Hours: Monday through Friday, 7:30am to 5:00pm, home every night. Emergency calls when needed.
Benefits
- Wellmark health insurance, company pays for single coverage
- Delta Dental and life insurance available
- Paid vacation
- 401(k)
