Logistics & Fleet Supervisor

Thermal Shop

COMPENSATION

  • $28.00 to $35.00 per hour DOE OR Salary (DOE) for candidates who accept the elevated leadership scope: Direct Supervisor of all field workers (crew leadership, accountability, production standards, and day-to-day oversight across crews).

ROLE SUMMARY

Thermal Shop is hiring a Logistics & Fleet Supervisor to be the central command for shop/warehouse operations, fleet readiness, and job loadouts. This is not a passive coordinator role. You will own the systems that keep crews moving and prevent downtime caused by missing materials, disorganized staging, or preventable vehicle issues. If you are organized, mechanically aware, and you like running a tight, accountable operation, you will love this. THE MISSION Run the shop/warehouse. Protect production. Keep the fleet ready. If crews do not have the right materials and tools, they cannot work, and that stops here.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. SHOP/WAREHOUSE LOGISTICS (THE HUB)

  • Own the physical organization of the shop/warehouse. Everything has a home and stays there.
  • Help stage materials and tools for upcoming jobs and confirm completeness before crews roll.
  • Manage loading, unloading, returns, restocks, and end-of-day reset standards.
  • Maintain high-integrity inventory counts and track usage so the system matches reality.

2. CREW LOADOUT OVERSIGHT (Week 1 RESPONSIBILITY)

  • Week 1: Coordinate directly with crew leads daily to ensure correct loadouts, returns, and restocks.
  • Enforce readiness standards. Trucks leave stocked, clean, and job-ready.
  • Identify recurring problems (missing materials, messy trucks, lost tools) and implement fixes.

3. FLEET MANAGEMENT AND ASSET TRACKING

  • Own fleet service intervals. Schedule and track oil changes, inspections, tires, and preventative maintenance so nothing gets missed.
  • Perform or coordinate light maintenance (fluids, lights/wipers) and coordinate external shops for heavier repairs.
  • Assess and document damage. Determine whether it is road hazard/warranty/insurance vs operator abuse and coordinate the correct claim or chargeback process.

WHAT GREAT LOOKS LIKE (OUTCOMES WE CARE ABOUT)

  • Crews consistently leave with complete loadouts.
  • Inventory accuracy stays tight and predictable.
  • Fleet maintenance is on schedule and downtime is minimized.
  • The shop/warehouse looks professional, organized, and controlled at all times.

ELEVATED SALARY SCOPE (FOR THE RIGHT FIT 60-80k DOE)

Salary candidates take on the above responsibilities plus:

  • Direct supervision of all field workers (daily direction, standards, accountability, time/attendance discipline, and performance management in coordination with the Operations Manager).
  • Maintain production readiness across all crews: correct staffing, readiness, and execution quality.
  • Drive consistency: truck stocking, tool control, cleanliness, returns/restock compliance, and “how we do things here.” We will decide hourly vs salary based on experience and willingness to own the leadership scope.

IDEAL CANDIDATE PROFILE

  • Organized and detail-oriented. You love checklists, systems, and clean counts.
  • Mechanical sense. Not a master mechanic, but you understand vehicles/tools and can spot issues early.
  • Ownership mindset. You do not need to be chased. You build structure and hold the line.
  • Leader energy. Comfortable giving direction and enforcing standards with crews respectfully and firmly.

REQUIREMENTS

  • 2+ years in logistics, fleet coordination, warehouse operations, shop leadership, or similar.
  • Computer savvy. Comfortable using software daily to track inventory, fleet maintenance, and job readiness (email, spreadsheets, and work-order/tools systems).
  • Forklift certified (or willing to get certified) and able to lift 75+ lbs.

BENEFITS AND WHY JOIN THERMAL SHOP

  • Direct impact. Your systems keep the company running.
  • Year-round stability with consistent hours.
  • Autonomy to build and improve systems.
  • Benefits package includes 401k with company match, medical stipend, paid time off, and holiday pay.
