ImOn Communications has been the LOCAL choice for high-speed Internet, cable TV, and phone in Eastern Iowa since 2007. Since then, we have expanded our network to provide fiber Internet services to more than a dozen communities in Iowa and beyond! As we grow our network, we are looking for an IT Manager to join our team.

The IT Manager is broad in technology coverage and deep in platform experience. This role is hands on, as well as, responsible for supervising the IT staff and the design, implementation, configuration, and optimizing server platforms, storage systems, network connectivity, and security infrastructure to achieve high performance of the various business applications by tuning the infrastructure as needed. This includes ensuring industry best practices are followed, a fault tolerant architecture is implemented, proper monitoring is put in place, and documentation is created/ maintained. The IT Manager will assist in overseeing technical escalations, project scheduling, and team guidance.
Essential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Manage the performance of the IT staff and provide regular feedback to improve performance.
- Develop policies and procedures for the use of technology within the organization.
- Recommend and implement new technology solutions that improve efficiency within the organization.
- Define architecture, design, implement, and manage Desktop, server, network, and storage technologies to meet efficiency, reliability, and performance expectations
- Integrate and support servers, including database, e-mail, print, backup servers, and their associated software into enterprise solutions
- Design and implement physical, virtual, and cloud systems, maintenance support plans, and vendor-supplied patches
- Entitlement services – Manage changes related to physical and logical access by granting access and permissions based on requirements
- Deep understanding of TCP/IP, Network protocols, firewall management, and operating system configuration
- Point of escalation for complex technical needs
- Develop and maintain training materials including solution and procedural documentation
- Guide vendors by communicating requirements, evaluate software and hardware solutions, and build cost effective solutions
- Regularly provide mentoring and cross training guidance for others in the department
- Effectively document and communicate technical information in a clear and understandable way to all levels of the organization
- Maintain data security and confidentiality.
- Create, implement, and monitor security platforms.
- Develop solutions to mitigate security vulnerabilities
- Manager will be expected to work with day-to-day operations of IT Help Desk responsibilities, while managing a team.
Requirements
We are looking for people with:
- A minimum of 7 years’ equivalent work experience in a senior technical analytical position responsible for managing server, application, and database environments.
- 3 years’ of proven experience managing a team.
- A Bachelor’s degree in the field of computer science or management information systems and/or 6+ years of directly related work experience is required.
- Certifications in Azure, VMWARE, Secops Security Operations, MS SQL server technologies, collaboration platforms, and Windows Server are highly desired.
- Advanced knowledge of server technologies including Operating Systems, physical and virtual server environments, collaboration systems including Office 365, MS Teams, Sharepoint, and Active Directory
- Basic knowledge of MS SQL Server
- Basic knowledge of the following networking technologies: routing, switching, LAN/WAN, wireless, and Ports /protocol filtering (firewall systems)
- Extensive experience installing, configuring, and maintaining database applications.
- Advanced technical knowledge of scripting code using shell scripting tools.
- Salesforce experience required
